Position: Full Time Staff RN - PACU

Shift Information: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Job Summary

The registered nurse (RN) will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN is responsible for providing direction to co-workers and delegating role-appropriate tasks during care implementation, all in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in:
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure/Certification: Valid nursing license to practice in the state of Ohio. CPR certification required.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience preferred.
• Job-related Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; adept at problem-solving and resolving issues; capacity to manage multiple priorities; demonstrated independent decision-making; critical thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established care pathways.
• Educate patients and families/significant others throughout the care and discharge process.
• Document the nursing process/pathway accurately and concisely.
• Communicate significant observations and changes in patient status to the physician.
• Administer medications and perform treatments safely and accurately.
• Execute physician orders as specified.
• Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available for patient care, reporting any malfunctions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally and frequently handling weights of 25 to 50 pounds.
