Description
Position: Radiologic Sonographer
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer) is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic patient care services through the use of ultrasound technology and related diagnostic procedures. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the sonography room, managing patient schedules, maintaining equipment, reporting any equipment malfunctions, and participating in quality assessment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound services to patients.
- Manage daily operations of the sonography room.
- Ensure accurate scheduling of patient appointments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, reporting any failures as needed.
- Engage in quality assessment processes to uphold the standards of medical ethics.
- Continuously improve knowledge of the field, emerging diseases, and evolving procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient care excellence and teamwork.
- Interact warmly and professionally with patients and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular specialties.
- Breast certification is preferred.
- Certification in Adult Echo Cardiography is preferred.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements as relevant to specialties.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field is required.
Shift Information:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Additional Requirements:
Holiday coverage is not required for this position.
