Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Neuro Unit team. The ideal candidates will possess strong teamwork skills and a focus on patient safety while caring for patients with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Neuro Unit.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the medical team.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy efforts.
• Support a safe and effective care environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience in neurology is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and potentially take on charge nurse responsibilities is a plus.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Unit Details

• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Shifts: Night shifts available (4x12-hour schedule)
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts, approximately every other weekend
• Travelers will float to other units as needed.

Additional Information

• Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.
• Unit utilizes Pyxis for medication management, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication.
