Registered Nurse (RN) - Hematology/Oncology

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in hematology and oncology care to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing patients with various blood disorders and have expertise in inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with hematological malignancies and related conditions.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies safely and effectively.
• Monitor patient status, including vital signs and telemetry readings, and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize rapid response teams for critical situations as necessary.
• Manage central and peripheral venous access, including PICC lines and blood product administration.
• Conduct central line sterile dressing changes and provide feeding tube care and management.
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage other supportive therapies.

• Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
• Hodgkin's Lymphoma
• Multiple Myeloma
• Myelodysplastic Syndrome
• Myeloproliferative Disorders
• Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Administer autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants.
• Provide care for patients undergoing CAR-T therapy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical-surgical and inpatient hematology/oncology nursing.
• Chemo certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Experience with Computerized Charting

Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records is required.

Shift Details

This role requires a commitment to rotating shifts including nights, with a schedule of 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly.
