Description
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) will apply the nursing process within the scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. This role involves providing care to patients, teaching patients and their significant others, documenting patient care in medical records, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate the overall care of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions and care protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
- Work collaboratively with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Float to the Medical Care Unit (MCU), Progressive Stepdown Unit (PSU), and Acute Care Unit (APU) as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 24 months current experience in an Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Acute care hospital experience is required.
- Experience in PCU, IMCU, Telemetry, or Stepdown nursing is considered.
- Active BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications are required; must be willing to obtain certifications if not currently active.
- Oregon nursing license is required; willing to obtain if not currently active.
Shift Requirements
The position involves 12-hour night shifts. Weekend and on-call schedules will be determined by the facility.
