Description
Job Description
The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs and assists with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in both routine and emergency settings. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and screening patients for procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile environment.
- Operating specialized imaging equipment.
- Monitoring patients during procedures.
- Administering contrast under supervision.
- Managing supplies and documentation.
- Ensuring radiation and patient safety.
- Collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Responding to emergencies when required.
- Assisting with student training and other imaging modalities such as X-ray.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- ARRT R.T.(R) certification.
- ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV), or Certified Interventional (CI).
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Work Environment
This position involves direct patient care and exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, hazardous materials, chemicals, and radiation.
Shift Information
Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM, with an on-call rotation required for weeknights and weekends. Holiday coverage is also required.
