Shift Notes

12-hour Night shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Flexibility to float between units is required. Availability for every other weekend is expected.

Attendance Policy

We have implemented a strict attendance policy to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and support the needs of our patient population. Any Registered Nurse contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift, arrives more than 20 minutes late, or fails to complete their scheduled shift without prior approval will receive an attendance strike. Leaving a scheduled shift early without prior authorization will also result in a strike. Accumulating three strikes will lead to immediate termination from the assignment.

Extenuating circumstances, such as communicable illness or hospitalization, accompanied by appropriate documentation, may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments upon admission and monitoring trends in patient conditions throughout their hospital stay.
• Medication & Treatment: Preparing, administering, and charting prescribed medications, including IVs, and managing wound care or specialized equipment.
• Care Coordination: Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Education: Instructing patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and instructions for post-discharge.
• Emergency Response: Recognizing early signs of medical deterioration and acting swiftly to stabilize patients prior to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg and Telemetry experience required.
• Must possess current Michigan state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be active at the time of submission.
