Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum

Job Description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in a beautiful setting, providing exemplary care to mothers and newborns. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Family Birthing Center, equipped to independently assess and evaluate the health status of laboring and neonate patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Two years of nursing experience is required.
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• BLS and NRP certifications are required.
• ACLS certification is preferred.

Essential Duties

• Provide direct patient care and monitor responses during labor, delivery, and the postpartum phases.
• Educate and promote wellness for mothers during pregnancy and after delivery.
• Offer guidance and education to mothers regarding infant care.
• Document all patient interactions and educational content in the medical record using electronic systems.
• Communicate patient conditions effectively with physicians and nursing supervisors.
• Assist fellow staff in skill maintenance and learning new procedures.
• Collaborate with nursery nurses in the care of mother-baby couplets.
• Support physicians during procedures.
• Aid the nursing manager when requested.
• Provide assistance in emergencies across other nursing units, as needed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment within the Family Birthing Center.

Physical Activities & Requirements

The physical demands of the position include:

• Frequent use of hands for handling and communication.
• Regular standing, reaching, and bending.
• Occasional walking and sitting.
• Frequent lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision for reading medical records and equipment, with color and peripheral vision required for patient observation.

Working Conditions

This position includes a schedule of 36 hours per week, with shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required, and opportunities for overtime are available.
