Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care for critically ill patients. This role will involve a combination of day and night shifts, requiring flexibility based on department needs.

• Oncologic Emergencies
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Pneumonia
• Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
• Gastrointestinal Bleeds
• Neuromuscular Diseases
• Drug Overdose
• Consequences of Oncologic Treatment
• Pulmonary Hypertension
• Autoimmune Disorders
• Sepsis

Unit Details and Special Procedures

This MICU unit specializes in the care of hemodynamically compromised patients. Common procedures and treatments include:

• Mechanical Ventilation
• Pulmonary Artery Catheter Placement
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Arterial Pressure Monitoring
• Cardiac Monitoring
• Chest Tube Insertion
• Central Venous Catheter Placement
• Chemotherapy Administration
• Complex Medication Regimens
• Clinical Trials
• Plasmapheresis

Patients may also require bronchoscopy or endoscopy due to underlying pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following certifications:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH)

Required Skills

• Ventilator Management
• IV Start Proficiency

Additional Information

Computerized charting is required, specifically using the EPIC system.
