Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team. This role requires a strong clinical background in a medical ICU setting, along with the ability to provide exceptional patient care in high-acuity situations.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts, rotating every 4 weeks, or 4 weeks of days followed by 4 weeks of nights

Patient Ratios

Typical patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2, ensuring focused and personalized care.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience
• EPIC experience is required

Certifications Required

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• AHA Certifications only

Skills Required

• Proficient in IV start
• Experience with telemetry
• Competency with ventilators

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Proficiency in the EPIC documentation system

• Multisystem Organ Failure
• Respiratory Failure
• COVID-19
• Sepsis
• Post-Cardiac Arrest
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Liver Failure
• Renal Failure

Special Procedures and Unit Details

• Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia
• Externalized IV Pumps for COVID-positive patients

Special Equipment Knowledge

• NxStage CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
• Alaris IV Pump
• GE Cardiac Monitor
• GE Ventilator
• Boom Lift in each patient room
