Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will utilize professional and clinical expertise to provide and manage care for patients. This role may require floating within the same discipline across multiple locations within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and implement respiratory care plans for patients.
• Manage patient care using advanced ventilatory support techniques.
• Collaborate with medical staff to determine appropriate patient treatment plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system (EPIC).

Shift Information

This role involves night shifts commencing at 1845 hours. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend.

Orientation Schedule

Orientation will be held every Monday.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Completion of at least 1 travel contract is preferred.
• Must possess a valid Iowa state license.
• Proficiency with Draeger or GE ventilators is required.
• Experience with High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) is required.
• Must have experience floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Additional Requirements

• A valid driver's license.
• Work history/resume submission is required.
• A completed skills checklist must be submitted within one year prior to the submission date.
• Verification of licenses and submission of required certifications is necessary.
• At least one supervisory reference must be provided at the time of submission.

Travelers must have a taxable address located outside of 50 miles from the facility. Local candidates in Madison will be considered but may incur a rate reduction.
