Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in Medical-Surgical to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility as the nurse will float across multiple locations when scheduled.

Shift and Schedule

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, Nights
• Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 30 beds
• Patient Types: Medical-surgical, post-operative, and spine care
• Drips: Heparin
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Scrubs: Navy Blue, solids

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Strong experience with heparin
• No first-time travelers; must have at least 3 months of current travel experience within the past 12 months
• Experience in post-operative care and spine care is required
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
• Current and active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license

Certifications Required

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
