Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. This position plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions.

Shift Information

• Night shifts: 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts), totaling 36 hours
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Work every third weekend

Unit Information

• Patient Types: Rhythm disturbances, heart failure, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac catheterization lab (CCL) recovery, and medical-surgical overflow
• Patient Ratios: Days - 1:3-5, Nights - 1:5-6
• Bed Size: 24 beds
• Common Drips: Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, Dopamine, etc.
• Telemetry technology for constant monitoring
• Required to float to other units as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in a progressive care setting
• Administer cardiac drips and titration
• Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records using EPIC system

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current experience in Telemetry, Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care nursing
• Experience with patient populations requiring ICD and pacemaker management
• Cardiac rhythm experience is essential
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with cardiac drips and titration is required
• Level II trauma experience is preferred; Level I trauma experience is a plus
• Active Iowa nursing license or multistate license at the time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or equivalent is mandatory
