We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Neuro Intermediate Care to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a teamwork approach and uphold behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Adherence to the call-off policy is strongly enforced.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Neuro Intermediate Care setting.
• Efficiently titrate LEVO and manage IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications following established protocols, including heparin, PCA, thrombolytic agents, and other vasoactive drips.
• Oversee feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, and post-hemodialysis management.
• Manage care for a range of neurological conditions including aneurysms, craniotomies, CVA, and TBI.
• Support respiratory care, including BiPAP/CPAP management and care for ventilated patients.
• Implement isolation precautions and wound care practices in accordance with protocol.
• Participate in team-based care and contribute to a positive workplace environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro Intermediate Care or similar setting is required.
• Prior experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response protocols is necessary.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
• Additional certifications such as CCRN, TNCC, and CPI are preferred.

Work Environment:

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with a maximum daily census of 24 patients.
• Shifts available in lengths of 12 hours, specifically night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekend shifts will be required, with a minimum of three shifts every six weeks.
• Orientation includes 32 hours of training: 8 hours of computer training followed by two shifts on the unit.
• Scrubs should consist of navy blue and white colors; not provided.
