Position Summary:

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients using advanced equipment and administering contrast materials as needed. Key responsibilities include preparing the scan room, conducting patient interviews, and ensuring proper imaging protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Room and Patient Preparation: Prepare the scan room and ensure the patient is ready for the examination.
• Contrast Administration: Draw up IV contrast if required, administer oral contrast when indicated, perform equipment warm-up procedures, and enter patient data with the appropriate scan parameters.
• Patient Transport and Positioning: Transport the patient to the exam room, assist in positioning, assess for allergies, inject IV contrast, and perform scans with careful attention to image quality.
• Image Management: Ensure correct patient orientation and image marking, and enter images in the correct sequence using a keypad.
• Record Preparation: Prepare records for the radiologist, ensuring completeness of clinical information and correct order of exam images.

Work Schedule:

• 5 x 8-hour shifts per week with a 40-hour guarantee.
• One weekend per month (7 AM - 3:30 PM) is required.

Qualifications:

• Experience in MRI is required.
• Experience with Siemens equipment is required.
• Active MRI certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
