ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a dynamic environment. This role requires comprehensive nursing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, intensive care setting.

Shift Information

• Work Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours
• Start Time: 7 AM
• Holiday Rotation: Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend
• Floating: May float to Med Surg unit during low census or staffing shortages

Unit Information

• ICU: 5 ICU beds and 3 stepdown beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:2, occasionally 1:3 during overflow
• Patient Types: Ventilator support, BiPAP, Airvo, Bariatric surgery, General surgery
• IV Drips Managed: Propofol, Levofed, Diltiazem, Insulin, Heparin

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of recent ICU experience is required
• Med Surg experience is strongly encouraged due to floating requirements
• Comfortable managing care for 2-5 patients
• Travel experience within the past 24 months is required
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, is required
• Active PALS and TNCC certifications are required
• NIHSS certification is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding
• Proficient in telemetric readings and assessments

Certification Requirements

• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Competency
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or ARC)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (preferred)
