Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on the individual needs of patients, while identifying priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patients’ needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Manage the care of patients, ensuring quality and efficiency in treatment.
• Document patient care in accordance with standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in acute adult oncology, particularly specializing in leukemia and lymphoma in an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure & Certifications

• Mandatory:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Compact License
• Preferred:
  • Telemetry Certification
  • Chemotherapy Certification with ONS

Required Skills

• IV insertion
• Phlebotomy
• Basic nursing skills

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 3 x 12-hour shifts; availability for weekends and holidays is required as needed. Floating to other locations may be necessary.
