Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Behavioral Health to join our team. Nurses in this role will provide compassionate care to patients experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health challenges.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Holidays: Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd weekend
• Call: Possible as needed, up to once per pay period

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 9
• Patient Ratios: Can be up to 1:9
• Patient Types: Psychiatrically and behaviorally challenged individuals
• Scrub Colors: Grey

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health capacity is required
• Experience with geriatric patients is required
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license at the time of submission is required
• EPIC electronic medical record experience is required
• Charge nurse experience is required
• A de-escalation certificate (MOAB, MAB, CPI, SAMA) is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding
• Professional references from direct supervisors within the past 24 months are preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required

Additional Information

Candidates must be located outside a 50-mile radius of the position to be eligible. Please note the employee separation policy which affects re-hiring in travel roles based on prior employment with specific organizations.
