Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients’ needs.
• Identifying patient needs and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiating assessments based on patients' problems or needs, physician medical diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Managing the care of patients.
• Documenting care based on standards and practices, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocating for evidence-based practice care standards and supporting the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Providing patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a major acute care hospital setting.
• Strong background in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• No additional preferred skills or experience.

Education

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure

• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).
• Telemetry Certification.
• BLS Certification (AHA).
• CEU Contact Stroke - 4 Hours.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Schedule Requirements

• Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM (two shifts), 7 PM - 7 AM (one shift).
• Hours per week: 36.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed.
• Holiday Requirement: Yes.
• Floating Requirement: Yes.
