Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating room procedures and exhibit the ability to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, with options for 5x8s or 4x10s
• Shift Times: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM or 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM
• 40 hours/week
• Holiday rotation required with on-call weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the operating room setting.
• Assist in surgical procedures as a circulating or scrub nurse.
• Maintain high standards of documentation and patient safety throughout surgical operations.
• Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage and operate special equipment, including Davinci robots and neuro navigation technology.
• Handle patient populations including cardiac, neurology, trauma, gynecology, urology, pediatrics, transplants, and general surgery.
• Ensure efficient room turnover, with an expectation of less than 20 minutes per turnover.

Qualifications

• 24 months of current operating room experience required.
• Experience in circulating and operating room procedures is required.
• Scrub experience highly preferred.
• Expertise in general, robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases required.
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, and vascular cases highly preferred.
• Recent experience with EPIC electronic medical records within the last three years is required.
• Experience in a Level I trauma setting is highly preferred; Level II experience required.
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months.
• Active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license required.
• AHA BLS certification is mandatory.

Additional Information

• Travel across multiple locations may be required.
• Contractors may be required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays.
