Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) with Med Surg/Telemetry experience to join our dynamic team. This position requires adaptability and a collaborative spirit as the unit evolves to meet the needs of our community.

Shift Information

• Shifts: 4x12 hour shifts; opportunities to accommodate 36-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend or every third weekend depending on staffing and census
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year), unless the unit is closed

Unit Information

• Patient Types: All types of medical-surgical care
• Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse
• Bed Size: 15 beds
• Drugs: Experience with heparin is required
• Telemetry: Remote monitoring by tele tech
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs (solid colors)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a variety of medical-surgical patients
• Collaborate with team members to enhance learning and create a positive environment
• Float between various locations as necessary, ensuring flexibility based on unit needs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of experience in Med Surg / Med Surg Tele
• Previous travel experience is required; must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 18 months
• Proficiency in caring for a diverse range of medical-surgical patients
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required
• Charge nurse experience is required
• Telemetry and cardiac background are highly preferred
• Precepting experience is a plus
• Must hold an active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license
• AHA BLS certification is required
