Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on Medical Oncology and Benign Hematology to join our team. This role involves providing care for adults and geriatric patients through various stages of their cancer journey, including new diagnoses, treatment, and end-of-life care transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with solid tumor cancers, including but not limited to breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers.
• Monitor patients and interpret telemetry data, ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols and fall risk management.
• Float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed based on unit requirements.
• Assist in the administration and management of antineoplastic chemotherapy, with a focus on safety and patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, with a strong preference for candidates with oncology experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills are essential.
• ONS Chemotherapy certification is preferred.

Additional Information

Staffing ratios are aimed at maintaining a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio, though it may rise to 1:5 based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are variable depending on the demands of the unit, and no set or blocked scheduling is offered for permanent staff.

As part of the medical team, you will also be responsible for ensuring a high standard of care while collaborating with various healthcare professionals to implement best practices.

Parking and Refund Information

Agency staff have several parking permit options available for purchase. These include:

• WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the designated garage.
• WB Annual Permit: Access to specified parking lots on weekends and holidays.
• CXS Annual Permit: Access to multiple parking locations.

Prorated refunds may be available for unused months on annual permits. To avoid charges for the next month, cancellation must be completed by the designated deadline.
