We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in providing high-quality surgical patient care during all phases of the surgical process.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments preoperatively.
• Maintaining a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
• Providing education to patients and families regarding pre and post-operative care.
• Monitoring patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical continuum.
• Integrating and coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of current Operating Room experience.
• Experience in various surgical specialties, with strong skills in vascular and orthopedic surgery preferred.
• Experience in both circulating and scrubbing roles.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Must have a valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Possession of a personal vehicle is required for transportation.

Work Schedule

This position offers a flexible schedule from 11 AM to 11 PM with potential adjustments to meet operational needs. Weekend shifts are not required, and there is an on-call expectation of approximately once per month.

Orientation and Training

New hires will participate in an 8-hour non-billable orientation and must have completed designated crisis prevention training from recognized training organizations before starting. COVID vaccinations are encouraged, but not mandatory.
