Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN serves as an advocate for individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all nursing practice standards and professional development in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary or accountable nurse when designated.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with established policies, leveraging a sound knowledge of pharmacology.
• Contribute to effective resource utilization, including staffing and supply management.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
• Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, supporting unit councils and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and nursing students.
• Adhere to the organization's values and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Registered Nurse for 6 months to 3 years.
• Zero to 3 years of management experience.
• Over 5 years of direct nursing experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Critical thinking and sound judgment capabilities.
• Organizational skills including effective planning and time management.
• Proficient in problem-solving and quality assurance.
• Commitment to safety and risk management.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

Education

Required Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).

Preferred Certifications & Licensure

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.

Schedule Notes

This position requires a Cardiac Telemetry RN providing care in a stepdown/PCU environment. Proficiency in telemetry is essential. Must have experience in various cardiac procedures and be familiar with managing complex cardiac cases.
