Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position involves working in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU), providing critical care to patients with neurological conditions. The role requires expertise in both patient assessment and management of complex neurocritical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU.
• Monitor and manage patients' vital signs and neurological status.
• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of ventilators and intracranial pressure monitoring equipment.
• Administer IV medications and perform IV starts as necessary.
• Utilize telemetry for continuous patient monitoring.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, with a focus on neurocritical care.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only).
• Proficiency in IV start, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
• Experience using Epic electronic medical record systems.

Scheduling Requirements

This position involves a 36-hour work week with mandatory night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend shifts include Friday and Saturday nights, with Sunday not considered a weekend night.

Additional Requirements

Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required based on staffing needs.
