Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) nursing. The successful candidate will join our team for a 12-hour day shift, committing to 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a Med Surg setting. This role involves working on a unit of 20 to 34 beds, with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. Nurses may be required to float to other Med Surg units as needed.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

• Every other weekend availability is required.
• Holiday work may be needed, particularly during major holidays, with expectations to work two blocks around these periods:
• Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, plus the weekend after.
• Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after.
• New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the weekend after.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years current Medical Surgical experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Willingness to float to any Med Surg unit is essential.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly valued.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS must be current and included at the profile upload.
• A personal vehicle is required for commuting to the assignment.
• All requests for time off must be communicated at the time of submission. More than 5 days of requested time off will not be accepted.

Profile Requirements

• Current work history relevant to the position.
• Skills checklist for Medical Surgical, valid within the past year.
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years.
• Valid Massachusetts RN license must be submitted with the profile.
• Documentation for BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS must be current and included.
• Permanent address is required for profile submission.
