Job Description

This position requires the accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The role encompasses skills necessary for performing a variety of technical procedures, ensuring the highest quality diagnostic radiography while minimizing radiation exposure to patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Radiographic and Fluoroscopic Procedures: Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures ensuring accurate application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Patient and Equipment Positioning: Appropriately position patients and equipment to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, utilizing extensive anatomical positioning skills.
• Radiation Protection: Provide appropriate radiation protection for both patients and staff during exposures, adhering to prescribed safety standards.
• Technical Adjustments: Adjust technical factors to ensure appropriate exposure, relying on independent judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, the impact of disease on radiographs, and the principles of radiation along with the specific operation of all radiologic equipment in the department.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of X-ray experience is required.
• Certification: Active American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• ARRT Certification: Active certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• References: Two supervisory reference forms, completed within the last two years, are required.
• Skills Checklist: A current skills checklist relevant to the specialty, completed within the last year, is required.
