ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing essential care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including young adults to elderly patients with various complex medical conditions.
• Manage critical care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, titratable drips, and withdrawal management from substances.
• Provide care for diseases affecting cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and gastrointestinal systems.
• Support post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Perform specialized procedures such as arterial line and central line placements, intubations, and chest tube insertions.

Patient Care Details

• Experience with patient ratios of 1:3.
• Comfort and proficiency with a variety of medical technologies and equipment including glidescopes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• Experience managing critically ill patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
• Proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips and vasoactive drips.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and manage emergency medications.
• Advanced skills in continuous IV sedation, paralysis protocols, and administering procedural sedation.
• Competence in obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Provide care to ventilated patients, including the use of BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC).
• Manage infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions (PPE).

Work Schedule

This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts per week, providing vital care to patients during overnight hours.

We particularly welcome applicants who are located more than 75 miles away, as we are looking for candidates that can cover weekends on an every-other-weekend basis.
