Shift Information

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends, no holidays, no on-call required.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of less than 1 year of experience is required. Previous experience performing ultrasound procedures is preferred, or equivalent experience as determined by the Department Manager.

Certifications/Requirements

• General Certifications: BLS/BCLS
• Allied Health Certifications: ARDMS (AB), ARDMS (OB)

Qualifications

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology.
• AHA BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Quality conscious with strong interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, organized, capable of independent judgment, and possessing high technical skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality for accurate interpretation by radiologists.
• Follow pre-determined image criteria to assess images, ensuring all required measurements, volumes, heart rates, and anatomical information are included.
• Operate diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to produce quality final images, ensuring all required data is present.
• Select appropriate technical factors while operating ultrasound equipment.
• Assess patients to optimize technical techniques used during examinations.
• Review and verify physician orders for accuracy before starting examinations.
• Document review of the requisition/order on the patient record.
• Manage patient orders and charges, ensuring exams are scheduled accurately and information is organized for record maintenance.
• Coordinate daily exam schedules and patient flow to complete exams in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients by ensuring accessibility of assistive devices and addressing safety concerns.
• Provide accommodations for elderly patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during examinations.
• Monitor and interpret patient responses to pain, taking appropriate actions to manage discomfort.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to the safety of children and vulnerable patients.
