Job Summary

As a member of the Rehabilitation team, the Occupational Therapist provides quality care for patients referred for services by a licensed physician. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing treatment plans to facilitate patient recovery and rehabilitation.

Job Duties

• Conduct evidence-based assessments and document findings in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
• Submit a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval and signature within 24 hours of completing the evaluation.
• Enter accurate treatment charges daily into the EMR.
• Maintain treatment records, statistical data, and patient scheduling for referred patients.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans or make referral recommendations as necessary.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) in patient care and provide educational support to enhance their clinical skills.
• Continuously assess department equipment for safety hazards to ensure patient safety.
• Demonstrate positive behavior and promote effective interpersonal relationships to enhance the organization's image.
• Contribute to the overall productivity and efficient operation of the Rehabilitation Therapy Department.
• Maintain professional knowledge, licensing, and skills; promote public understanding of the field of occupational therapy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Schedule and Requirements

• Hours: 8am - 4:30pm, 40-hour guaranteed work week.
• Weekend Requirement: 1 Saturday standby shift per 13 weeks.
• No on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Prior occupational therapy experience is required.
• Inpatient experience is required.
• Active Arkansas Occupational Therapy License is mandatory.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
