Operating Room Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. This is an urgent backfill position with a focus on providing high-quality care in the operating room setting. The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible, pending compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room during surgical procedures.
• Assist with patient circulation and recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams in various specialties including General Surgery, GI, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cataracts, and Podiatry.
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.

Requirements

• Must have extensive circulating experience in the operating room.
• PACU experience is required.
• Scrub experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with surgical cases in General, GI, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cataracts, and Podiatry.
• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 8-hour days from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotation for on-call duties.
• On-call requirement: 1 day per week, and every fifth weekend.
• Weekend on-call: Friday at 3:30 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM.

Certification Requirements

• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
