Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients. This role requires expertise in managing complex healthcare needs and involves floating to various units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the PICU.
• Float to designated units, including Pediatric Medical/Surgical and NICU, based on staffing needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, responding promptly to changes.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of PICU experience required.
• Current nursing license and CPR certification.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Work Schedule

The position requires the flexibility to work weekends and variable night shifts. Nurses will self-schedule for three 12-hour shifts per week, with opportunities to work consecutive shifts or split them up as preferred.

Patient Ratios

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio in the PICU is 1:2, allowing for comprehensive patient monitoring and care.
