Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for providing direct and indirect care to a group of patients across various age populations during a designated time frame. The nursing process is fundamental to delivering care and encompasses assessment of biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning factors. This role involves planning, prescribing, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating the care rendered.

The Registered Nurse must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan. They should possess the capability to assess data that reflects the patient’s age and status, as well as interpret the necessary information to prescribe and deliver care in accordance with unit and hospital policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Conduct assessments to determine patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient responses to care.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient treatment.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in nursing as well as compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Active Michigan nursing license at the time of submission.
• Travel experience is preferred.

Schedule

• Shift: 0648-1918 (3 days a week)
• Weekend requirements: None
