Job Summary

Our Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurses (RNs) play a crucial role in providing care to patients during critical moments. ED RNs are trained to handle a wide range of emergency situations, ensuring the delivery of specialized and innovative services to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to quickly and accurately assess incoming patients presenting with both physical and mental health conditions, prioritizing their injuries and medical needs effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the emergency department.
• Assess and triage patients based on their medical needs and conditions.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to a variety of trauma situations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare personnel to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience in an emergency department environment.
• ED experience within the past six months is required.
• Demonstrated clinical performance and practice are essential.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Education and Certification Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Telemetry certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• CEU Contact Stroke - 4 hours.

Schedule and Other Information

• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 3 shifts per week.
• Holidays: Required for every other holiday.
• Weekends: Required every other weekend.
• No on-call or float requirements.
• Scrub color: Navy.
