Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER), you will provide essential care to patients with acute medical conditions and trauma. Emergency departments operate 24/7 to cater to patients experiencing emergencies that require immediate medical attention. Your role will involve evaluating patients, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Common conditions encountered include:

• Symptoms of a stroke, such as sudden numbness or weakness
• Symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain and shortness of breath
• Seizures or loss of consciousness
• Severe injuries, including fractures or head trauma
• Vomiting or coughing up blood
• Deep cuts or uncontrolled bleeding
• Severe burns
• Severe abdominal pain

Shift Details

This position requires 12-hour shifts with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department (ED)
• Tactical Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• PALS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Active Michigan state nursing license at the time of submission required
