Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical to join our team. This position requires commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts and Flexibility

• Nights, 4x12 hours shifts, 48 hours/week (36-hour option available)
• Holiday rotation required; all staff are expected to work 1-2 of the following upcoming Winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year
• Every 3rd weekend is required
• No on-call duty

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 30
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Types of Patients: Hip/knee surgeries, mastectomies, abdominal surgeries
• Drugs Managed: PCA, Heparin
• The unit features an emotional support canine

Qualifications

• 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital setting is required
• Post-operative surgical experience is highly preferred
• Experience in hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries is preferred
• Open to first-time travelers
• PCA and Heparin experience is required
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical records is required
• Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license is required at the time of submission
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

Candidates must be willing to float across multiple locations within the region as required. Professional references within the last 24 months are preferred.
