Registered Nurse ER (Adult)

Scheduling Details and Charting

• Shift Hours: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Requests for Time Off (RTO) and Special Scheduling: Must be submitted upon application
• Call-Off Policy: The facility may cancel up to three shifts during the contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Local Nurses: RN's within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted; local LPNs accepted

Required License/Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN License required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS certification required)

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs; IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care for various adult and pediatric conditions including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
• Isolation precautions and triage; pediatric spinal cord injury management

Unit Details and Floating

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5 for adults and geriatrics; all emergency-type diagnoses
• Special Equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
• Floating: Required to float within skill set
• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
