Job Overview:

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. The unit focuses on providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac conditions. Ideal candidates possess strong critical thinking and clinical skills, particularly in telemetry and step-down nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Administer medications and cardiac drips, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Interpret telemetry readings and respond to dysrhythmias effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Float to various units as required and work collaboratively within the team.
• Participate in weekend shifts and maintain flexible scheduling.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with a strong focus on cardiac telemetry.
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are required.
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is essential.
• Step-down experience is preferred.
• First-time traveler candidates are welcome.

Shift Details:

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days for automated offers.
• Expectations for 36 or 48 hours weekly.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• Commitment to 8 weekend shifts is necessary.

Unit Details:

• Patient diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction (MI), acute coronary syndrome (ACS), uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and heart failure.
• All nurses will handle a patient ratio of 1:6 with an average daily census of 23 patients.
• 3-day orientation with an initial day for EPIC training followed by unit-specific training.
• No charge nurses on the unit; teamwork is strongly emphasized.

Scrubs:

Navy or white scrubs are required.

EKG testing is required prior to the start of the role to ensure suitability for this specialty.
