Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced, critical environment. This position requires a commitment to intensive nursing care for patients with severe medical conditions.
Schedule
- Working Hours: 3x12 hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Rotating Day and Night shifts every 4 weeks
Patient Ratios
Estimated patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2, ensuring high-quality patient care and personalized attention.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical ICU setting.
Required Certifications
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- AHA Certifications only
Required Skills
- Proficient in IV starts
- Experience with telemetry monitoring
- Competency in ventilator management
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Proficiency in EPIC documentation system
Specialized Experience
Ideal candidates will possess specialized experience in the following areas:
- Multisystem Organ Failure
- Respiratory Failure
- COVID-19
- Sepsis
- Post-Cardiac Arrest Care
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Liver Failure
- Renal Failure
Unit Details
- Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia
- Externalized IV Pumps for COVID-19 positive patients
Special Equipment Knowledge
Candidates should have familiarity with the following equipment:
- NxStage CRRT systems
- Alaris IV Pumps
- GE Cardiac Monitors
- GE Ventilators
- Boom Lift available in each patient room
