Job Description

This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a stepdown unit, integrating collaborative care planning for individual patients and implementing nursing standards throughout the care process. The role necessitates effective communication and teamwork to support patient health and safety.

Shift Details

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36-hour guarantee
• Every other weekend and holidays may be required

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, monitoring vital signs and intervening as needed.
• Coordinate patient care tasks with interdisciplinary teams to enhance health outcomes.
• Supervise and support nursing assistants in providing patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records (EPIC).

Patient Ratios

The maximum patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1, ensuring quality care for all patients. Each shift includes the support of two Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs), a Nurse Lead, and a House Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is highly preferred.
• Charge experience is required.
• Available for a minimum of two holiday blocks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
• A valid New Hampshire RN license or compact license is required.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required.

Additional Information

• Orientation hours are non-billable.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be indicated at the time of submission, with a maximum of 5 days of RTO accepted.
• Travelers must have their own vehicle.
