Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Operating Room (OR) as a Circulate Nurse. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to surgical patients using evidence-based practices and standards.

Shift Information

This position requires availability for the following shifts:

• Monday to Thursday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (32 hours guaranteed)
• On-call hours are also required for additional shifts.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

The nurse will be expected to fulfill the following weekend and holiday obligations:

• 1 weekend per month (Friday to Monday)
• Holidays as needed, including:
• Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after
• New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day and the weekend after

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will be responsible for:

• Assisting with various surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment
• Providing direct patient care and support to surgical teams
• Monitoring patient status and vital signs during procedures
• Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
• Ensuring a sterile and safe environment for surgeries

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• 2+ years of current OR experience in a hospital setting (required)
• Strong experience as a Circulator with a focus on orthopedic procedures (required)
• Minimum of 3 months travel experience (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Valid Vermont RN license or Compact license (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Must have a personal vehicle for transportation during the assignment

Additional Information

Orientation is non-billable and will be conducted prior to the start of the assignment. Requests for time off (RTO) must be documented at the time of submission, with a maximum of 5 days accepted.
