Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in a variety of surgical procedures and patient care across multiple specialties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in both general and specialized operating room (OR) procedures, as well as possess a strong foundation in pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in diverse surgical procedures including, but not limited to, gastric bypass, laparoscopic cases, thoracic surgeries, and total joint replacements.
• Administer medications and provide care in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain a sterile environment during procedures and adhere to infection control practices.
• Perform necessary patient assessments and provide education to patients and families regarding surgical interventions and recovery processes.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and participate in code response teams as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and surgical procedures in the electronic health record (EPIC preferred).

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid nursing license with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a surgical or perioperative nursing role.
• Proficient in placing IVs and performing phlebotomy as required.
• Experience in various specialties, including orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, urological, vascular, and thoracic cases.
• Familiarity with operating room technology, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

• This position may require being on-call or taking shifts as required by the unit.
• Minimal request time off (RTO) is preferred.
• Block scheduling accommodations may be considered, although not guaranteed.
• Local candidates will not be accepted; candidates must be willing to travel more than 75 miles.
