Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a committed and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position is designed for those with a passion for emergency medicine and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Shift Information

• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, focused on both adult and pediatric patients.
• Conduct assessments and interpret dysrhythmias, and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines.
• Perform phlebotomy and start IVs, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and oversee procedural sedation administration.
• Maintain high standards of infection control and adhere to isolation precautions.
• Float to other units as necessary, based on census needs.
• Participate in weekly rotations, including every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting is required.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Experience with Epic charting is preferred.

Professional Skills

• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
• Proficient in blood product administration and emergency medication protocols.
• Experience with managing patients under continuous IV sedation and paralytics.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaborative patient care.
