Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating rooms with a focus on cardiovascular procedures.

Shift Notes

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4x10s with rotating day off
• Holiday rotation; required to work 1-2 of the three upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Call requirements: Up to 2 overnight shifts per week and 1 weekend per month

Unit Information

• Patient Types: Variety including cardiac, vascular, thoracic, general, pediatrics, and more
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Average caseload: 35-50 cases per day with expectation of turnovers in less than 20 minutes
• Special Equipment: 3 Davinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation
• Scrub or Circulate: Candidates should be proficient in both

Orientation Schedule

Orientation will take approximately 4-5 weeks, beginning with general operating room training, followed by focused training in vascular and cardiac cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current/recent operating room experience, with a focus on cardiovascular procedures
• General operating room and circulating experience required
• Strong and proficient experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries
• Basic general surgery circulating experience required
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system within the last 3 years
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience highly preferred
• No first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the last 15 months
• Scrub experience, particularly in open heart procedures, is essential

Certification Requirements

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
