Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

This position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform various technical duties to administer complex cardio-pulmonary care treatments to patients according to physicians' verbal or written orders. The therapist will work independently within the respiratory therapy department and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer cardio-pulmonary care treatments based on physician orders.
• Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
• Cross-train in additional areas of the department as required, including EKG, stress tests, Holter monitors, event monitors, and EEGs.

Schedule

Shift requirements include 12-hour varied shifts, with a need for flexibility to work any shift. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, and the therapist must be available to work during peak holiday times.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of current experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Active RRT certification through The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Massachusetts Registered Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred.
• Comfortable working with patients of all ages.
• Must have reliable transportation for the assignment.
