The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities. Through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses, the RN also focuses on the prevention of illness, alleviation of suffering, and advocacy for individuals and families. Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients, serving as the primary nurse or accountable nurse as assigned.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to administer medications safely in accordance with established policies.
• Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Participate actively in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and support unit improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory educational requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Demonstrate alignment with organizational values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) experience ranging from six (6) months to three (3) years.
• Management experience of zero (0) to three (3) years.
• Five or more (5+) years of direct nursing experience.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Understanding of organizational dynamics.
• Planning and time management capabilities.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Licensure

• Required: Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• Required: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty and relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.

Experience in Neuro is required, with a commitment of 13 weeks for a full-time night shift position, including every other weekend.
