Position Overview

The IMCU/Step Down Registered Nurse plays a vital role in the care of patients transitioning from intensive care to a less acute setting. This position requires specialized knowledge and skills in managing patients with cardiac drips, post-cath lab procedural care, and care of trach and ventilated patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in the IMC/Step Down unit.
• Monitor patient vital signs and condition, implementing necessary interventions.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips as per protocol.
• Deliver post-cath lab care, ensuring patient comfort and safety during recovery.
• Manage the care of patients with tracheostomies and those on ventilators.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and contribute to patient care plans.

Schedule

• Shift Type: Days (3x12 Hours, 07:00 - 19:00)
• Weekend Requirements: Yes (6 shifts per schedule period)
• Floating: Yes (may float between units as required)

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure.
• Experience in IMCU, Step Down, or similar nursing environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in managing cardiac drips and providing post-cath lab care.
• Ability to care for patients with tracheostomies and on ventilators.
