Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes the planning, implementation, and documentation of nursing care based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify patient needs and prioritize care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessment based on patient problems or needs, physician’s medical diagnosis, and functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
• Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry experience is required.
• Proficient in all inpatient unit nursing skills, including the administration of foleys and IVs.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Telemetry Certification or completion of a Telemetry Competency Exam is required.

Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
• Valid state Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license is required.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) is required.
• Telemetry certification is required.
• Completion of a 4-hour CEU contact course on Stroke is required.

Schedule

• Shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Hours per Week: 36.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, as per staffing needs.
• Float Requirement: May be required to float, but not frequently.
