Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Step Down unit. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical needs. The RN will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being during their recovery process.

Shift Details

This role requires a commitment to 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to meet the demands of a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Unit Information

The Step Down unit is equipped to handle telemetry and complex medical/surgical cases, providing a transitional level of care between intensive care and general medical units.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs, including telemetry readings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and updates.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide education to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the medical record.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Completion of 8 hours of Stroke Training.
• Experience in a step down or telemetry unit is preferred.
