Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated L&D Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This position offers a chance to work in a Magnet-recognized, Level II Trauma facility, providing care for expectant mothers and their newborns in a high-risk environment.
Assignment Details
- Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks (subject to call-offs)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
Unit Information
The unit consists of:
- 10 OB Triage Rooms
- 10 Labor and Delivery Rooms
- 3 Operating Room Suites
- 4 PACU Rooms
Daily averages include approximately 7 deliveries, with the capacity to accommodate up to 14 patients, including those undergoing inductions and high-risk antepartum care. The OB Triage unit handles an average of 4-5 third trimester testing patients daily.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid RN license in Alaska
- 1 year of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
- NRP
- Charge experience preferred or willingness to be trained as charge
- Willingness to float to like units as needed

- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Time off requests will be evaluated on an individual basis upon offer; all time off must be included in submission.
